The 2017 Midnight Madness at the Toronto International Film Festival closing night film was Sôichi Umezawa's Vampire Clay. Umezawa is a long time special effects artist and his feature film length debut as a writer and director was very much anticipated. The film did not disappoint. The film showcased excellent special effects as well as a nuanced story of what it means to be an artist. Robert Mitchell was at the premiere and here is the resulting interviews.
